Photorealistic Environment
Reconstruction
The images shown here are from an original architectural visualization project — a beachfront condominium development designed and rendered entirely by Brian Lee Westfall using Structure Studios, Lumion, Luminar NEO, and Photoshop.
This 12-story high-rise was modeled floor-by-floor with individual balconies, window variations, and poolside detail to demonstrate the level of environmental accuracy achievable for forensic reconstructions.
Compare these renders against any real-world building to judge the fidelity for yourself. This same precision is applied to forensic accident scene reconstruction — recreating the exact environment so a jury can see what happened, from any angle, at any time of day.
Hypothetical Forensic Reenactment Animation
A 2-minute demonstrative video using this condominium environment as a stage for a completely fictional premises liability scenario. No real events are depicted.
Disclaimer: This is a hypothetical demonstration created solely to showcase forensic visualization capabilities. No actual incident is depicted or referenced. All scenarios are entirely fictional and for illustrative purposes only.
Why hire a forensic animator
who has actually built pools?
I'm not a graphic designer who learned to make pool animations. I'm a pool construction professional who learned forensic visualization. When I create a reconstruction, I'm not guessing how a pool drain works or estimating code requirements — I know them because I've built, inspected, and repaired pools across 20+ years.
Why This Matters for Your Case
When opposing counsel questions the accuracy of my work, I defend it with the authority of someone who has secured building permits in 12+ jurisdictions, managed projects from design through final inspection. Combined with my insurance adjuster license, I understand how carriers evaluate claims from the inside — what they look for, what they deny, and how to withstand their scrutiny.
Technical Capabilities
Dual NVIDIA RTX 4090 GPUs deliver cinema-quality 4K rendering with real-time ray tracing. Professional video production through DaVinci Resolve Studio. To-scale architectural modeling from as-built drawings, survey data, and site photography.
Built for Admissibility
Courts across the U.S., including Texas and federal courts, routinely admit computer animations as demonstrative aids when a qualified witness authenticates them as a fair and accurate illustration of admitted testimony, they are relevant, and their value is not substantially outweighed by unfair prejudice (Tex. R. Evid. / FRE 401, 403, 901; FRE 107; Pugh v. State, 639 S.W.3d 72, Tex. Crim. App. 2022). Admission is always at the judge's discretion. A simulation that computes physics is held to the stricter Rule 702 reliability standard, so every project ships with a source-data log, an assumptions memo separating measured facts from opinion, a method statement, file hashes and a proposed limiting instruction — the package your sponsoring expert needs on the stand.

Frequently Asked
What is the difference between a forensic animation and a simulation?
An animation is a demonstrative aid — it illustrates witness testimony or an expert's opinion so the jury can see it. A simulation uses mathematical models to predict an outcome and is held to the stricter standard for scientific evidence. Everything produced here is prepared as animation, the same category as a chart, diagram or scale model.
What does a forensic exhibit contain?
A 3D scene rebuilt to scale from the survey, as-built plans, site photos and measurements; still images from the camera angles that matter to the case; annotated diagrams with dimensions; references to the applicable barrier, drain and code requirements; and, when needed, an animated sequence. Each deliverable ships with a record of the source material and method so your expert can authenticate it.
Can you testify as an expert witness?
I can testify to the accuracy and methodology of the visualization itself — how the scene was measured, modeled and rendered. I work alongside your retained expert (accident reconstructionist, engineer or pool-safety expert) rather than offering independent opinions on liability.
Why hire a forensic animator who has built pools?
Because the animator has to know what is behind the tile. 20+ years of hands-on pool construction means the shell, plumbing, drains, barriers and deck slopes in the model are built the way they are built in the field, and a Texas All-Lines Insurance Adjuster license (#2270028) means the claim side of the case is familiar ground too. You work directly with me — no junior animators.
Do you work on a contingency basis?
No. Like other consultants and expert witnesses, this work is done on a flat-fee or hourly basis, which preserves credibility as an independent expert.
Do you need to visit the site?
Not always. Most of the scene is built remotely from depositions, photos, surveys and plans, which travel electronically, so cases anywhere in the United States can be handled. In-person site measurement and inspection are available in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
